The Lake has plenty of water birds like different varieties of kingfishers, herons, cranes, painted storks, wild ducks, etc.  The cool glades around the lake abound in large fowls like the peafowl and small birds like the ubiquitous sunbird.  A group of ornithologists who recently visited the place counted 160 species of birds in a small circle around the Lake. There are several rare and endemic varieties of birds.
