As a part of the Western Ghats, one of the most bio-diverse regions in the world, there are thousands of species of plants, gigantic trees to insignificantly small forms of plant life, including many endemic and endangered varieties in this area.  Wild orchids, wild mallows, creepers, beans, hemp, ferns, lichens, etc. cover the ground under the protective canopy of giant trees.  Abundant rain and the cool atmosphere ensure lush vegetation covering the hills around with deep green most of the year.
