There are short and easy trekking paths around the expansive Kamarajar Lake, where several endemic and rare varieties of birds can be sited.  Gurgling streams, cascading mountain streams, rocky crags and thick green forest-growth in the depressions between hillocks with occasional sightings of wild animals await the adventure minded trekkers.  Expert guides are provided for longer treks through unfrequented and unfriendly trekking terrains on the upper reaches of the Palani Hills. The hardest and longest trek is a two-day trek along an ancient path to Kodaikanal at an elevation of 2100 Metres with an overnight camp on the way.  The forested slopes of the Sirumalai Hills (located at the opposite end of the Kamarajar Valley) are also popular for one day trekking , starting in the early morning from our cottage.
